MAKING A Horse from Cars

For a long while I’ve had the idea to create a horse from vibrant car panels as I was attracted to the idea of a homage link to horses being the first cars. It was also an interesting way to incorporate colour and recycling into my work.

Check out how I made my first horse from cars here.

Sculpting the Horse Head

This was a fun Time-lapse video on me creating the head of my full-scale rearing horse. Which was a challenge sculpt as it was to capture it on film with numerous takes, however it was worth it.

It was a defining moment making the head as that’s when it started to feel like this horse became alive and have a strong presence. It was also a thrilling time as this new style I had for this horse allowed me to sculpt to a greater depth of detail without losing or distorting the shoes themselves.

Enjoy..

Making the wall sculpture on BBC

Behind the Making of a steel wall Sculpture that was featured on BBC's Home is Where the Art is Show. Where three artists pitch and compete to make a piece of art for a Client. It was a brilliant experience to be involved in the show to meet the clients, crew, and fellow creatives and of course the warm friendly presenter, Nick Knowles.

It was a brilliant commission and experience being on the show, I’m very grateful as it has exposed my work to a large client base, and I also developed a new style from it so very happy days. Enjoy some the making snippets.

Behind the photoshoot

I thought it would be interesting to show you the lengths I and my fabulous Photographer Josey Grace go to get interesting Stella shots to complement my work. We found an abandoned industrial place locally and thought it would be great to contrast to my decorative lighting work. It was slightly bit mad and dangerous at times but that’s what you do for your art. Enjoy
