Featured artist on BBC

Exciting News!! I’m a Featured Artist, on BBC ‘s Second Series of “Home is Where the Art is”.

The basic concept of this episode is that I’m up against two other artists where we pitch, create, and compete to make a piece of art for a potential buyer.

It was such a fascinating surreal experience, being mic'd up and talking to Nick Knowles about my Art on camera.

SECOND REARING HORSE COMPLETE

I’ve finally finished my long term rearing horse Sculpture its such a satisfying feeling now its out of the workshop in the open field.

This life-size rearing metal horseshoe horse sculpture is now on view to the public at Cheltenham Racecourse! It always gives me a great feeling to know that my creativity is being used to decorate public spaces for everyone to view.

MAKING A Horse from Cars

For a long while I’ve had the idea to create a horse from vibrant car panels as I was attracted to the idea of a homage link to horses being the first cars. It was also an interesting way to incorporate colour and recycling into my work.

Check out how I made my first horse from cars here.

Sculpting the Horse Head

This was a fun Time-lapse video on me creating the head of my full-scale rearing horse. Which was a challenge sculpt as it was to capture it on film with numerous takes, however it was worth it.

It was a defining moment making the head as that’s when it started to feel like this horse became alive and have a strong presence. It was also a thrilling time as this new style I had for this horse allowed me to sculpt to a greater depth of detail without losing or distorting the shoes themselves.

Enjoy..

Making the wall sculpture on BBC

Behind the Making of a steel wall Sculpture that was featured on BBC's Home is Where the Art is Show. Where three artists pitch and compete to make a piece of art for a Client. It was a brilliant experience to be involved in the show to meet the clients, crew, and fellow creatives and of course the warm friendly presenter, Nick Knowles.

It was a brilliant commission and experience being on the show, I’m very grateful as it has exposed my work to a large client base, and I also developed a new style from it so very happy days. Enjoy some the making snippets.

Behind the photoshoot

I thought it would be interesting to show you the lengths I and my fabulous Photographer Josey Grace go to get interesting Stella shots to complement my work. We found an abandoned industrial place locally and thought it would be great to contrast to my decorative lighting work. It was slightly bit mad and dangerous at times but that’s what you do for your art. Enjoy

Metal Sculpture Art Aftercare Instructions

Knowing how to maintain your metal sculpture art is important to keep it in good condition, particularly if it is housed in an area that has potential to cause damage to the sculpture if it is not taken care of, like a heat or humidity source. Below you will find aftercare information for both indoor and outdoor metal wall art and sculptures.

Aftercare instructions for indoor metal sculpture art

Indoor metal sculpture art shouldn’t need much maintenance, except for an occasional dusting when needed. However, it is advisable to keep metalwork sculptures away from extreme heat and moisture to maintain good condition.

To keep the piece clean, it is advisable to gently wipe it down annually with water and washing up liquid to remove any residue that could cause damage over time.

Aftercare instructions for outdoor metal wall art and sculptures

Outdoor metal wall art and sculptures don't require much maintenance other than an occasional wipe down with clean water and washing up liquid to remove any residue which could cause damage if left to build up. Similarly, if the metalwork sculpture is located in a coastal area, the piece should be wiped down regularly to remove salty residue.

If the sculpture is housed in an area that uses an iron-rich water source, do not let it come into contact with this water, as steel can react adversely.

If you would like tailored aftercare advice for a specific piece of metalwork art that you have purchased, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to help.
