Behind the Making
Second Rearing Horse Sculpture
My Muse
It all Starts With a Sketch
Having developed a new technique of using horseshoes in sculpture, via layering them together has reinvigorated me to make a second piece.
I believe using this style allows me to define the muscles and shape of the horse in more striking an commanding way.
“ I wanted to create a horse that shows its true presence, which for me is its majestic strength and shear physical empowering scale. Creating this new way sculpting will allow me to show them qualities.”

Started this horse in 2016 its been on the back burner for a while. As I have been juggling other projects at the same time. If I added all the hours together I’d say Roughly 4-5 months work.
Videos
Below are some videos i made that focus on me sculpting the distinctive parts of the horse. Such as the Front legs and head. Have a watch and get a glimpse into the challenges and tribulations I faced when making these.
